It's VoxBox time, dolls!! I got so very excited when the mailman delivered the #MKGlam box today.
Before we get into just how epic the contents are, I'd like to take a moment to tell ya'll a little about Influenster and their VoxBox program.
Influenster is an online community for users to share reviews about products they love. You link all your social media accounts to determine how IN-fluential you are. By being active on the site and your media accounts you may qualify for free products to review and share. Some boxes are brand specific while others are filled with an assortment of products. By joining Influenster, there is no guarantee you will ever qualify for a box, but being active certainly increases your odds. I have been lucky enough to receive 2 previous boxes and this makes 3!
When I got the confirmation email that I was chosen for this particular box, I did a major happy dance. I mean, it's makeup...Mary Kay makeup .. what girl wouldn't be excited?
This is definitely the prettiest VoxBox i have gotten.
Let me pause a moment and say that when I get brand specific boxes, I usually only see a product or two in them. In no way was I expecting THIS!!
Mary Kay overload! I'm speechless. Its packed with product after product.... Its amazing!! While Mary Kay products aren't crazy expensive, they are definitely more costly than the drugstore brands so this is an insane amount of product.
They included a Mary Kay magazine Thankfully.. cause my info card is not in my box!! *sad face*
Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss -- $14 ~~~ Now while this looks super bright by looking at the package, it's actually not nearly as loud of a color on. It's red orange that's very subtle and is just the right amount of pop for me and my super fair skin. Applies smoothly and has a pretty lengthy staying power which is a HUGE plus for me!
Mary Kay Bronzing Powder -- $18 ~~~ again, I have super fair skin so it's hard for me to find a bronzer that doesn't look like i smeared dirt on my face but this one is perfect.i received the Light - Medium shade and it is absolutely perfect for contouring along my cheekbones.
Mary Kay Powder Brush -- $16 ~~~ I wasn't e petting brushes in this box but I won't ever turn away good tools! While I will say that I have used better brushes, it is most definitely better than alot of them I have tried. The bristles are soft and we'll packed and I haven't had any major shedding with this so I give it a 4/5.
Mary Kay Cream Eye color/concealer brush -- $10 ~~~ I actually like this brush much better than my MAC one of the same kind. Great texture and the bristles are packed tightly.
Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara -- $15 ~~~ I'm a mascara junkie, seriously. .. I have a LOT of it but I'm always searching for a better one. I like the brush on this one and it's got some serious lengthening power. The 1960's spider lash look is making major waves this year and if you want to pull that look off, this mascara is a great tool to achieve it!
Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable brush -- $18 ~~~ first off, I needed this so thanks Influenster. .. you read my mind. Second, this is the best eyeliner brush ever. Third, I'm addicted to eye products in general. I always have an arsenal of eyeliner and holy crap this is hands down the BEST longest wearing liner i have ever used. Its amazingly smooth to apply but the longevity of it is what is so fantastic. I applied my makeup before we went out last night and after 8 hours of dancing, sweating, fun, it did not move! Not a smudge in site. This is my new holy grail product.
Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder -- $16 ~~~ I don't think I have ever used a translucent powder before but I do like this. It's white but goes on colorless to work for all skin tones. I love that because I'm so fair skinned it's hard to get a perfect shade match. This is a great powder for setting and finishing your makeup.
Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color -- $12 ~~~ This is an extremely smooth lightweight blush. Its not heavily pigmented and just gives you a fresh flushed look. That's what I look for in a cheek color. To many are so bright and hard to blend.
Mary Kay Cream Eye Color -- $14 ~~~ This was probably my least favorite item. I'm not a huge lover of cream shadows as the tend to feel sticky on me and crease badly. This is , however, a very good product for highlighting the corners of my eyes.
Without question, this is my favorite VoxBox to date. I received a total of about $133 worth of amazing makeup. Mary Kay may be considered 'old' by many people but the fact that they have sustained themselves this long only proves how good they are. Many of the products I received are far superior to expensive brands I have used in the past. Keep it up Mary Kay! And thanks for giving us affordable top quality products!!
I received these products courtesy of Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions and thoughts are my own and should be viewed as such.
