My September Allure Sample Society box has arrived!
If you don't already know, Allure Sample Society is a monthly subscription service curated by the editors of Allure magazine. The cost is $15.00 per month and includes 5 generously sized high end beauty products. This is the third box since their reboot and I have been very pleased so far!
Each box comes with a mini Allure magazine that gives you all the details on the month's featured items and why they were chosen.it also tells you each month's theme and this time it's 'The Miracle Workers'. The beauty must haves that will keep you looking and feeling fabulous even on the longest and busiest of days!
Since the SS revamp, I've had a consistently great first look. Everything stands out and is placed perfectly in the box.
Givenchy Dahlia Divin --- My first thoughts when it comes to any Givenchy fragrance is my grandmother. She adored this brand and wore it for many years. This smells similar to hers but not as overwhelming. It's a soft but noticible scent billed as a 'Woody Floral'. I'm surprised by how long it lasted and by how much I enjoyed it. Even my son thought it smelled good and believe me, that's high praise!
Alterna Caviar Repairx Re-Texturizing Protein Cream --- just seeing the Alterna brand name let's me know this is a great product. It's a leave in conditioner that saturates moisture into dry damaged hair to fill in the cracks and repair the cuticle. Even better, it is free of paraben's, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, petroleum, sodium Chloride, synthetic color and gluten!
Tarte Brazillance Self Tanning Face Towelettes --- Tarte is one of my favorite brands when it comes to cosmetics and I'm sure these are just as fabulous but they aren't for me. I'm so pale and every single time I have attempted self tanning it has so not ended well for me.
Restorsea Revitalizing Eye Cream --- It's a full size product! A full size product that retails for $85! That pays for this box several times over! And while I own a bazillion eye treatments already, I'm still quite excited about this one. It's paraben, phthalate, silicone, PEG and mineral oil free. Works to reduce fine lines and crow's feet while pumping skin full of moisture!
LORAC POREfection Mattifying Face Primer --- This is my favorite item in the box. Its the lightest softest primer I've ever used and a little goes a long way. It smoothes over your pores without settling into them and makes that oily shine go bye bye. I wish the size was a bit bigger but I should be able to stretch it for at least a week or two before I am forced to actually purchase the full size.
I've seen so many people have such conflicting views on this month's box but I personally loved it. I'd like to see another cosmetic in there if I had to say anything at all but that's about it on the criticism. I've been overall really really stunned and happy with these last few boxes and I am keeping my fingers crossed that they can keep this level of fabulous up in the months to come as well!
