Wow. Can you believe it's already February? Looks like this is going to be another one of those years that fly by at warp speed. The only thing I like about the beginning of a new month is that it brings a whole new batch of boxes with it. How bout we start this month off with a brand new box? It's the January Abuela Mami box!
Abuela Mami who very kindly sent me this box for review, is s brand new Cuban themed subscription service. The cost is $25.95 per month and each box contains a variety of Cuban goodies for you to try and experience.
I'm seeing some food related goodies lurking here! I consider myself pretty adventurous when it comes to new flavors so I'm excited to see this!
The included card doesn't have a full detailed breakdown of each featured item but it does list them all. I hope they included more product information as they grow in popularity.
Aluminum Cup with Lid --- I know this is simple, but I seriously love it! I honestly don't know if I have ever seen a cup with a lid like this. It is the absolute perfect size for soup and if I don't eat it all, I can just pop the lid on the cup and save it for later!
Chifles Plantain Soup Mix --- How about that?! A soup to go into my new cup! I don't think I've ever tried a Plantain, let alone Plantain Soup. It sounds interesting enough so I'm excited to have a taste test!
Keychain & Assorted Candies --- Strawberry and sesame candies. Yum. And I love the Cuba keychain made from a domino piece!
Badia Seasoning Mix --- I love seasoning and spice mixes! I'm constantly playing with new ideas and flavor combinations when I cook. I used this to season a chicken a couple of days ago and it was fantastic!
Cafe La Llave Espresso --- Coffee... It is the way to my heart. I seriously can't function without that punch of caffeine in the morning. It's been some time since I've used anything but kcups, but I certainly will not be letting this much coffee go to waste! It's wonderful!
Guava Paste & Fruita Bomba --- Abuela Mami suggests pairing both of these with white cheese or cream cheese. I'm loving the Fruita Bomba but I will admit that I am hesitant to try out the Guava Paste. It doesn't sound particularly appealing to me but I will give it a shot!
I love a subscription box that lets you have a little taste of another culture and country so of course, I really think this box has a massive amount of potential and I'm pleased with all the products featured in the January box. I enjoyed my little Cuban experience and I look forward to seeing what's in store for February!
