Ugh, These past couple have weeks have just been so hectic! Between baseball games, being sick, doctors appointments, and other random things, my plate has been utterly full. At least a couple of those have started to fall off the list so I finally have some time to get to writing and reviewing! Let's start with the April 2016 Birchbox!
If you are somehow unfamiliar, Birchbox is a monthly Beauty subscription service. It's one of the original pioneers of the subscription box boom and is the very first box I myself ever received. The cost is $10 per month and includes 4-5 deluxe beauty samples (and occasionally a full sized one too!).
First of all, the box design is gorgeous this month, isn't it? I expect nothing less when it's a Rifle Paper Co. Print. I'm glad I chose my sample this month instead of the curated box too.
This months theme is, Spring Awakening and the information card gives you all the details on the products featured in your box.
Au Naturale Mini Trio --- This was my sample choice for April. I own quite a few products from Au Naturale and I really love the brand and quality of their cosmetics. This palette features a creamy blush, eyeshadow, and lipstick combo. I love all three!
Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Solution --- I have some serious skin issues with sensitivity as of late so I'm happy to see a gentle product like this. It's a toner and makeup remover in one that's easy on sensitive skin like mine and full of complexion calming ingredients.
Dr. Jart+ Liftra Contour Cream --- A Dr. Jart+ product always makes me happy! This is a high-tech, first of its kind, colleges producing cream that visibly firms, lifts and plumps skin.
Amika un-Done Texture Spray --- Another brand I love. Actually, there was an Amika product in my.very first Birchbox ever! This is a great styling spray that's gives you that great tousled, effortless look with lots of volume, shine, and an amazing scent as well!
Odacite Black Cumin & Cajeput Serum Concentrate --- As someone with acne prone, oily skin, I am skeptical about oil based serums for treating blemishes but I'm loving this! It uses purifying properties of black cumin oil to control the spread of breakout causing bacteria. It's to concentrated to use as a spot treatment on my sensitive skin but a few drops mixed in my moisturizer does wonders!
Another great Birchbox! I have to say, I've been very pleased with the variety and quality over the last year or so. I used to receive a lot of repeat products but I haven't had that issue in quite some time. Kudos to the Birchbox team on amping it up!
