May 2016 OwlCrate Review & Coupon

I used to think audiobooks were so ridiculous. I refused, for years, to even entertain the idea. Luckily though, I decided to give them a chance and holy crap am I happy I did! Seriously, a well narrated audiobook is like crack. I just keep coming back for more. I get to grab my wireless headphones and enjoy a book while simultaneously getting things done. It's awesome! Of course, there's still nothing quite as nice as a physical book though so I get massively excited when I get my OwlCrate each month!

OwlCrate, if you don't already know, is a YA book lovers heaven. The cost is $29.99 (plus $6.99 s&h) per month and each box will feature a newly released YA novel and bookish goodies. Need a bit of extra incentive to subscribe? Use coupon code NEWMEMBER at signup for 10% off your first box!

I feel like a 12 year old fangirl every single time I open an OwlCrate  A crazy, excited fangirl.... I love it!

Each month, OwlCrate curates their boxes around a specific theme. May's theme is 'Steampunk' and the enclosed card gives you the skinny on all the items you received.

Elope Steamworks Pin --- You can't have steampunk without a few gears and cogs here and there. This pin is well made and one of 5 different metal accessories that subscribers could have received.

Creative Daffodil Studios Art Print --- Anything involving Peter Pan is just something I will instantly love. It's so simple and lovely. I'll have to buy a frame to display it on my bookcase!

Crystal Compass Designs Skeleton Key Necklace --- We are just full of fabulousness in this box, aren't we? I have always had a love of antique style skeleton keys and this suits me perfectly. It's well made and I adore it!

Espionage Cosmetics Nail Wraps --- How kick ass are these?! Owlcrate and Espionage Cosmetics partnered up to make these amazing steampunk inspired nail wraps. They are seriously gorgeous.

Sparks Emporium Ring --- I've seen a few rings from Sparks Emporium before and loved them so I'm thrilled with this one!

A closer view. It's just beautiful and the design was inspired by the amazing Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare.

Everland by Wendy Spinale --- This sounds absolutely epic. A Peter Pan retelling with a Steampunk twist? Yes please! Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

"London has been destroyed in a blitz of bombs and disease. The only ones who have survived are children, among them Gwen Darling and her siblings, Joanna and Mikey. They spend their nights scavenging and their days avoiding the ruthless Marauders -- the German army led by Captain Hanz Otto Oswald Kretschmer.

Unsure if the virus has spread past England's borders but desperate to leave, Captain Hook hunts for a cure, which he thinks can be found in one of the survivors. He and his Marauders stalk the streets snatching children for experimentation. None ever return. Until the day they grab Joanna. As Gwen sets out to save her, she meets a daredevil boy named Pete. Pete offers the assistance of his gang of Lost Boys and the fierce sharpshooter Bella, who have all been living in a city hidden underground. But in a place where help has a steep price and every promise is bound by blood, it will cost Gwen. And are she, Pete, the Lost Boys, and Bella enough to outsmart Captain Hook?"

Yup, this is definitely moving to the top of my TBR pile!

Included with the book is a nice note from the author to OwlCrate subscribers and a set of Everland Flash Tattoos.

There is absolutely nothing about this box that I don't love. The themes, the book selection, the wonderfully perfect bookish  items. It all makes me deliriously happy. OwlCrate is my current obsession and it's not at all difficult to understand why!
