June 2016 LitJoy Crate Review

My TBR pile has grown beyond ridiculous at this point. I'm reasonably sure I have well over 200 books on my shelves that I have yet to dive into. I tell myself, "no more books. You don't need more books, Okay, maybe just 1 new book. 5 books is enough. F it. Buy the whole store!" That is how it is for me, but I just can't stop myself. As proof of that inability to kick the habit, I've subscribed to another book box - LitJoy Crate!

If you aren't aware, LitJoy Crate is a monthly YA book subscription service (they offer other types of book boxes as well!). The cost is $29.99 per month (plus s+h) and subscribers will receive a new release YA novel and other bookish goodies that coordinate with the books theme.

This is my first time receiving a LitJoy Crate and I already love it.

Included is a nice information card that tells you a bit about each item in your box.

Bee Local Honey Sticks --- According to the information card, honey plays an important part in this month's book. I fear I will have to hide these from my son or he will sneak them from me. I love honey so much.

The Tiny Collection Campfire Tea Light Candle --- A Soy, all natural hand-poured candle that smells absolutely amazing? Yes please! I'm a candle freak so anytime I receive one in a box, I'm a happy girl.  This one has a very rugged, slightly masculine scent that is just wonderful.

Shop Unforgettable Jules White Jade Ring --- Such a simple thing but it's undeniably beautiful. Obviously, they couldn't send out any jewelry made from prehistoric ivory so they sent white jade instead!

I rather like it! Jade is a calming stone and is said to bring peace, harmony, and luck.

Crafting Call Pride & Prejudice Locket Keychain --- This has got to be the most awesome packaging ever. I love it nearly as much as I love the keychain. I mean, it's a tiny book! Who wouldn't love that?!

A look at it opened up. It's unique and beautiful and I have already attached it to my keys.

Ivory And Bone by Julie Eshbaugh --- I'm so pleased to see this book. I had it in my Amazon shopping cart a couple of weeks ago and I'm glad I delayed that purchase now! Here's the synopsis from Amazon:

"Hunting, gathering, and keeping his family safe—that’s the life seventeen-year-old Kol knows. Then bold, enigmatic Mya arrives from the south with her family, and Kol is captivated. He wants her to like and trust him, but any hopes of impressing her are ruined when he makes a careless—and nearly grave—mistake. However, there’s something more to Mya’s cool disdain…a history wrought with loss that comes to light when another clan arrives. With them is Lo, an enemy from Mya’s past who Mya swears has ulterior motives.

As Kol gets to know Lo, tensions between Mya and Lo escalate until violence erupts. Faced with shattering losses, Kol is forced to question every person he’s trusted. One thing is for sure: this was a war that Mya or Lo—Kol doesn’t know which—had been planning all along."

Bookplate!!! I love when signed bookplates are included. I've already stuck it onto my book.

There is also a note from the author to LitJoy Crate subscribers.

I love this box so freaking much! Not only am I extremely happy with the book selection, I also am really impressed with the curation of items that tie into the books theme. It's just wonderful and I can't wait for my next box!
