This has just been one of those weeks where absolutely nothing seems to go right. Last Friday, I wreck my car... This Friday, I'm sick as a dog. Lovely week, huh? But it isn't all bad. I did finally get my September Birchbox and that always manages to brighten up my day!
If you are somehow unfamiliar, Birchbox is a monthly Beauty subscription service. It's one of the original pioneers of the subscription box boom and is the very first box I myself ever received. The cost is $10 per month and includes 4-5 deluxe beauty samples (and occasionally a full sized one too!).
I know there's been a lot of hate on Birchbox lately since they changed up the point system (and don't get me wrong, I wish they hadn't changed it) but my boxes have been so good lately that it hasn't really bothered me all that much.
This month's box is full of multitasking products and the enclosed information card tells you a bit about each item you received.
R+Co Analog Cleansing Foam Conditioner --- Ya know, I used to really dislike these. The hairdresser in me feel like there must be suds for hair to get clean but I actually like them now (though I still can't use them daily!) This particular one is made with Argan oil and antioxidant-rich green tea. It strengthens, softens, and gives you shine without weighing down your hair.
Bioderma Sensibio H2O --- Oh! I don't think I've ever tried this one before! This is a no-rinse makeup remover that cleanses really well and contains micelles and cucumber to soothe skin.
Milk Makeup Highlighter --- This was my sample choice for September and I am really pleased with it. It's a gorgeous highlighter and is perfect if you want a touch of that sheer, dewy sheen. It's also very hydrating thanks to ingredients like mango butter, peach nectar, and avocado oils.
Avene Thermal Spring Water --- Perfect size! It's a shining example of a multitasking product. This hydrating mist acts as a toner, mid-day refresher, a soothing way to calm stressed skin, and it even sets your makeup. Mine is going with me to hydrate skin. It gets ungodly hot at my sons football games and this will be my lifesaver!
LOC Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil in 'cherry bomb' --- I've tried out the LOC eyeshadow pencils before but this is the first lippie I have tried. It has a really gorgeous high gloss finish and the durability and pigmentation are pretty fantastic. It's also very moisturizing!
I can't honestly tell you how many boxes I get each month, but despite the massive number, Birchbox still continues to be one of my favorites. Lately, my boxes have been extra fabulous and they keep getting better with every month.
