September 2016 Owlcrate Review & Coupon

This is the time of year that I both love and loathe. So much happens over these next few months and as much as I enjoy these events, they are also ridiculously stressful. Holidays, family gatherings, birthdays, more holidays... It runs me ragged! For now though, things are calm and I can throughly enjoy the little things, like my September OwlCrate!

OwlCrate, if you don't already know, is a YA book lovers heaven. The cost is $29.99 (plus $6.99 s&h) per month and each box will feature a newly released YA novel and bookish goodies. Need a bit of extra incentive to subscribe? Use coupon code NEWMEMBER at signup for 10% off your first box!

Already love it. I see pretty things and I am so so ready to check them out!

This month's theme is Darkness and the enclosed card gives you all the details on the products featured in the September box.

Out Of Print Canvas Pouch --- Don't you love this? Out Of Print makes some awesome gear and this pouch is no exception. I love the quote from Hollow City and its the perfect size too!

The Melting Library Celaena's Cake Candle --- Book inspired candles? Yes please! This one was created exclusively for Owlcrate and it celebrates the much loved Celaena from the Throne of Glass series. It smells wonderful and makes me hungry with its sweet cake aroma!

Da Bomb Fortune Telling Bomb --- This is so freaking awesome! Owlcrate says that this reminds them of the psychics from The Raven Cycle series (which I still need to read). This thing is gorgeous to look at and its so huge! Draw a bath, ask a yes or no question, drop in the bomb and from inside the blue fizzy water, your answer will float to the surface! So neat!

Remade Episode 1 --- I honestly don't think I have ever seen a book in episodic form. This is Episode 1 and it's such a fun, unexpected addition to this month's box.

Owlcrate Button --- The design for I'm this month's card is so nice to see on this little button pin. I love it!

Six of Crows Bookmark --- Super appropriate since Crooked Kingdom is about to be released. I love anything designed by Evie Bookish and it was created exclusively for Owlcrate!

This is one of the coolest book advertisement ever. It's for the new series by P.C. Cast and it's so pretty!!

It even has a couple of really cute coloring pages! So neat!

Three Dark Crowns by Kendara Blake --- I've been really looking forward to this book! It's gotten mixed reviews on Goodreads but book tastes are subjective so that's no real surprise. Here's the synopsis from the back cover:

"In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born—three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic.

Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose . . . it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins.
The last queen standing gets the crown."

I do love a signed bookplate! I always get really excited when they included one!

There's also the usual letter from the author to subscribers and one of those paper fortune telling things we always did in grade school. Thank god it has instructions cause I haven't folded one of these in about 20 years!

I really really loved this month's box! The book choice was just perfect and every single item chosen is amazing and ties into the Darkness theme nicely. So ready to see if they can top this with next month's box!
