October 2016 Here's The Rub Review

Have I ever mentioned how much I love BBQ? Well, I love it a lot! I live in one of the absolute best places for it to. Seriously, until you've had Memphis BBQ, you haven't lived. The BBQ cook off here every year brings out the best of the best from all over the world and the smell alone is heavenly. We love to grill down here and I'm excited to be reviewing a box today that caters to that love - the October Here's The Rub box!

Here's The Rub, who kindly sent me this box for review, is a monthly subscription that specializes in rubs and sauces. The cost is $34.95 per month and each box contains three carefully crafted barbecue rubs and sauces from a specific region of the country.

Oddly enough, this month's box features items from Tennessee! How's that for luck? The booklet is very nicely laid out and extensively profiles the company's that made this month's rubs and sauces.

The back page of the booklet tells you about each individual item you'll find in your box.

An extra bonus in this box were two custom coozies and a custom cedar grilling plank.

Barrel House BBQ Butt Rub --- Wish I had this for a Boston butt we had a few weeks ago! This is a fantastic blend of spices that really pack a punch!

Scott's - Parker Bar B Q --- Love the mason jar packaging and I love the consistency of the sauce. This 60 year old recipe 'secret sauce' is made with Vineger and peppers and is great on just about anything. I basted it on a pork loin I made a few days ago and it was fantastic!

Barrel House BBQ BBQ Sauce --- Another thing I wish I had on that Boston Butt! This sauce, curated in the home town of Jack Daniel Whiskey (cause we all know Tennessee Whiskey is unbeatable!), this ketchup based sauce is fairly mild with just the right little kick of heat.

This right here sets the box apart from similar subscrptions for me. They package your rubs and spices in wood chips! These are Apple/hickory wood chips and my husband has already set them aside to use the next time we grill!

I enjoyed everything in this box! From the packaging to the products, it's all fantastic and each item will most definitely be used and throughly enjoyed by my family!
