Well my Dolls, the holiday season may be approaching its end but my life most definitely won't settle down until after the new year. My son turns 10 this weekend (when the crap did that happen?) and come Friday, I will have a house full of boys. It's his first big sleepover and he is ridiculously excited about it. But before I get tied up with birthdays and the New Year, let's get into what you came here for - the December Fair Trade Crate!

Fair Trade Crate, who kindly sent me this box for review, is a monthly artisan subscription service. The cost is $35.95 per month and includes "handmade items that are whimsical, practical, delightful as well as those that promote efforts to stop human trafficking, child prostitution and the destruction of endangered species. Each month your box is from a new region of the world with handmade gifts and a special item that helps with an important cause from that region."

I'm loving this first look with so many bright and fun colors!

The included card gives you all the details on the items you will find in your December box.

Another thing I really love about this box is that for every new subscription, you are giving the gift of a baby chick. These will be part of s flick given to a family in a sponsored village so that they can have fresh eggs for themselves and to sell in the marketplace. Pretty awesome, huh?

Felt Pot Holder --- It's so fun! I love it! This needle felted potholder is made by compressing the raw wool by hand with washing, soap and hot water. It's hard work to compress to form the wool felt and the designs are added by laying down the colored wool and repeatedly punching with a needle until the fibers integrate.

Prayer Flag --- I have seen these before but I've never actually had one until now. Prayer flags are used to help promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The Tibetans believe that as the wind passes over the flags surface, the air is purified and sanctified by the mantras printed on each panel.

Yoga Om Scarf --- This is just gorgeous and really well made! The Om scarf is for wearing before or after yoga or during meditation. It's made from super soft cotton and is printed by hand with sacred symbols.

Himalayan Silk Soap --- oh, I loooove this! It's made from silk protein and is great for all skin types. The Silk protein (along with coconut oil and essential oils) protects your skin from moisture loss to keep it soft, smooth, and glowing.

This was a really great box for a really great cause, I love boxes that focus on helping others and improving their quality of life. You get to experience their gorgeous handy work and feel good about your purchase!
