March 2017 Uppercase Box Review

So I got a touch curious the other day and decided to count how many new books have been added to my shelf since the year begin. Ready? 107. Yup, mind you, I didn't buy all of these and most of what I do buy are used (goodwill is a book junkies best friend!), but still, that number is pretty high! If I keep this up, I may have to make another trip to IKEA! One book included in that massive tally comes from one of my favorite monthly subscriptions - Uppercase Box!

If you don't know, Uppercase Box is a monthly book subscription service. Each month, subscribers will receive a newly released, signed YA novel along with a couple bookish goodies. They have to plans available: The Expert plan is $23.00 per month (plus s+h) and the Book Exclusive plan is normally $17.00 per month but is currently on sale for $13.99 (plus s+h). This review is for the Book Exclusive box.

Included is a lovely, personal note from Uppercase founder, Lisa that tells you a bit about this month's book and why she chose it. Also included, the usual Bookmark that lets you access the best part of Uppercase - the exclusive content to amp up your reading experience! It's really such a fantastic perk!

You'll also find a beautiful bookmark that goes along with this month's chosen book.

Hunted by Meagan Spooner --- Major squeal of joy when I saw this was the book chosen. I am a massive fan of retellinga and this one has been on my Most Anticipated Reads list for months now! Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

Beauty knows the Beast’s forest in her bones—and in her blood. Though she grew up with the city’s highest aristocrats, far from her father’s old lodge, she knows that the forest holds secrets and that her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering them.

So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?

This is the other perk I love about this subscription. Every month, your book is signed by the author! I love that!

Even though I don't get the full blown box every month, it remains one of the very best YA book subscriptions for me. Lisa always manages to make perfect book selections and the extra, interactive experience you have while reading it is truly special!
