As back-to-school fever sets in, I sat at the grocery store pondering the age old question- do I pack my child's lunch or give him lunch money? It's a question I ask every year, but the answer is usually to give him lunch money. This year, I may try to do a healthy mix of both. Cost wise, school lunch is getting to be more expensive than packing a lunch. It's insane! Maybe with the help of the July Degustabox, I can think up some new things to put into my son's lunchbox!
Degustabox, who kindly sent me this box for review, is a culinary subscription service. The cost is $19.95 per month (which is awesome) and each box will include a mix of 10-15 surprise goodies. They are based out of Barcelona but have recently launched their box in the USA and I'm so happy they did. Want to try them for yourself? Use coupon code DEGUSTA10T at checkout for $10 off your first box!
Included is a beautifully laid out information sheet that lists each product you received in your box this month.
Mutti Tomato Sauce & Karma Wellness Water --- Tomato Sauce is something used often in my kitchen (it's the Italian blood, I suppose.) and this is a nice, smooth and creamy purée of tomato skins and seeds, Mediterranean herbs, and a slight hint of chilie peppers.
The wellness water is a new one for me. The vitamins and minerals are contained inside the 'KarmaCap'. It's formulated with 110% of seven essential vitimans and just 20 calories. Just push the cap to release the minerals, shake, and drink!
King Arthur Flour Cookie Mix --- I do so enjoy a batch of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. This mix contains premium chocolate chips, real brown sugar, and nothing artificial. I'm ready to taste these!
Waffle Waffle --- I got really excited about this one but it wasn't quite as good as I wanted it to be. It's a buttery vanilla waffle made with quality ingredients and real pearl sugar.
Goya Olive Oil --- Ah, Olive Oil... an item I never ever mind finding in a food box. It's derived from first pressing of the finest Spanish olives and has a very bold olive flavor.
Mrs. Thinster's Cookie Thins --- How on earth are these so crazy delicious? These thin, crunchy cookies made with all natural ingredients. No artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, and is non-GMO.
Kala Bean Mix & Vermont Smoke & Cure Meat Sticks --- I'm not a huge fan of the Kala Mix. This particular bean mix is Tropical Curry flavored and are super healthy, just not my taste.
These cracked pepper beef & pork sticks are made from lean, whole cuts of beef and pork. They are combined with classic mix of spices and are a tasty, protein packed treat!
I say it again and again, but when it comes to food subscription boxes, I don't think there are any of them that give you as much bang for your buck as Degustabox does. It's fun, it's affordable, and it's truly an enjoyable monthly experience!
