August 2017 DaCosta's Secret Review

I'm worn out. Seriously, I have been bargain hunting to redecorate my bedroom for weeks now and I've found some amazing things. I'm one of those people that needs to do things immediately though so I've been moving furniture, refinishing, and painting non stop and I'm now sore and exhausted. I need an energy boost and I'm hoping that whatever goodies lie within the August DaCosta's Secret box will give me that jolt I need!

DaCosta's Secret, who very kindly sent me this box for review, is a a monthly subscription service specializing in organic and specialty foods. The cost is $39.99 per month and with each box you'll find 6-8 full-size, preselected organic, exotic, artisan, fair trade and/or specialty foods from around the world.

I said I needed an energy bump and I'm seeing several things that can help me with that!

Included is a very detailed information sheet. This month's featured country is Brazil (with the exception of a couple of items) and the pages tell you a bit about each of the products featured in your box.

English Tea Shop --- This tea smells and tastes absolutely wonderful. It's an organic anti-oxidant rich, White Tea with elderflower, blueberry, and lemongrass. Yummy!

Nugali Chocolate --- a melt in your mouth, no sugar added milk chocolate that is just divine. It's made with Brazilian flavor cocoa and it's sucrose, glucose and fructose free!

Bazzar Guava Dessert --- A typical Brazilian dessert made with pure Guava that is cooked long and low until it caramelizes. It is supposedly great when paired with white cheeses or soft breads and cakes.

Lehigh Coffee --- This is a farm-to-cup coffee grown in the mountains of southwest Brazil. The climate and conditions in which it is grown are ideal so it yields deeper, more complex flavors. It's even roasted in Brazil and has aromatic notes of caramel and chocolate.

Nugali Dragee Banana --- This is wonderful and my favorite treat in this box! These freeze dried bits of banana are covered with 63% dark chocolate. They are the perfect bite size snack and I need more of them immediately!

Cate de Mi Corazon Avocado Oil --- This one is from Mexico! I don't even know if I've ever cooked with Avocado oil but I'm ready to try it.

Nugali Chocolate & Cupuacu Brittle --- This little gem just won a silver medal at the 2017 International Chocolate Awards.  Cupuacu is a fruit found in the Amazon and is a close relative of cocoa beans. It has a nice crunchy bite to it and the chocolate covered outside as just as tasty as the brittle within!

Everything in this box was top quality, beautifully presented, and (most importantly) tasted really amazing. I loved the wide range of items and the flavors I got to experience! A fantastic treat of a box!
