September 2017 Owlcrate Review & coupon

Do any of you have a guilty pleasure genre of books? Come on, you know you do. Mine happens to be a very specific category - Time Travel Romance. Yes, I know it sounds cheesy but if you've ever picked up any of the books from the Outlander book series, you know how intense and wonderful they can be. I lay all blame for this genre obsession squarely at the feet of Diana Gabaldon. My other favorite genre happens to be anything in the fantasy category so I was extremely excited about the September OwlCrate!

OwlCrate, if you don't already know, is a YA book lovers heaven. The cost is $29.99 (plus $6.99 s&h) per month and each box will feature a newly released YA novel and bookish goodies. Need a bit of extra incentive to subscribe? Use coupon code WELCOME10 at signup for 10% off your first box!

The theme for September is Mythical Creatures and the included information card tells you a bit about the theme and the items chosen for this month's box.

Coin purse --- How cute is this?! It's a durable canvas with adorable dragons and it was created exclusively by Team Owlcrate! Perfect size to fit into my clutch purse!

Bath Salts ---
You all know by now that I love bath products. These 'Son of Poseidon' bath salts are made by The Soap Librarian and they were inspired by Percy Jackson. They smell of eucalyptus and I throughly enjoyed them!

Sticker --- A cute little die-cut sticker from Susanne Draws. It's an Owlcrate exclusive and features Hagrid and Buckbeak from the Harry Potter series.

Ink & Wondet Bookmark ---
There are no words to properly describe the glee I felt upon seeing this bookmark. I adore Ink & Wonder designs and the fact that this showcases  my beloved Khaleesi makes it the best bookmark ever!

Book Sleeve --- This design is gorgeous! This was made by Book Beau and is an item that has been heavily requested by Owlcrate subscribers. It was well worth the wait! It's beautiful to look at and will keep my book of the moment safe and sound in transit!

Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows --- I was fairly sure this would be the featured book for this month and I was super excited. It's been on my most anticipated reads list for months now! Here's the synopsis from Goodreads:

Mira Minkoba is the Hopebearer. Since the day she was born, she’s been told she’s special. Important. Perfect. She’s known across the Fallen Isles not just for her beauty, but for the Mira Treaty named after her, a peace agreement which united the seven islands against their enemies on the mainland.

But Mira has never felt as perfect as everyone says. She counts compulsively. She struggles with crippling anxiety. And she’s far too interested in dragons for a girl of her station.

Then Mira discovers an explosive secret that challenges everything she and the Treaty stand for. Betrayed by the very people she spent her life serving, Mira is sentenced to the Pit–the deadliest prison in the Fallen Isles. There, a cruel guard would do anything to discover the secret she would die to protect.

No longer beholden to those who betrayed her, Mira must learn to survive on her own and unearth the dark truths about the Fallen Isles–and herself–before her very world begins to collapse. "

Another month with a bookplate signed by the author! I love having these! I also forgot to mention that the book cover is another Owlcrate exclusive!

As usual, each box includes a letter from the author of this month's book to Owlcrate subscribers. We also got a nice little guide to the dragons in the book!

The September Owlcrate is one of my favorite boxes to date. They are always amazing but the fact that this held a book I've been yearning for for months and it had such great fantasy related bookish goodies just put it over the top for me. God, I love this subscription!
